Remember way back in 2020 when we were all in this together?
We were working from home, all doing amazing jobs, and The Company was getting along just fine.
Then the Mid-Levels had a hard time justifying their existence, so they called The Company’s owner and told her that we really need to get these people back to work. The corporate culture that they had worked so hard to cultivate was suffering, and we were all isolated at home — we needed to get the team back together.
So we went back to work a few days a week. We sat in our cubes, dialed into conference calls, and checked email, and every now and then the Mid-Level would swing by and peek in just to make sure we were clickety clackety away on whatever the hell mundane task was thrown our way that morning.
