Jesus is a firefighter that lives near Santa Monica.
I met him when I went up to visit my niece. She and Jesus have been dating for about a year so she decided it’s safe to introduce him to family. We ordered some drinks and apps, exchanged pleasantries, and small talk eventually turned to shop talk.
My niece gave me that look because she knew what was coming. I like to get down to brass tacks, look into the eyes of the sun. You know, because that’s where the fun is.
How many people have you pulled out of a fire?

Jesus clearly loves his job and is planning on making it a career.
I wish I knew exactly what it was I wanted to do when I was his age, but it took me a long time to figure out.
So with that, I figured it was only polite to talk a little about what I do for a living, which I find fascinating but normal people often find boring.
