Entrepreneurship is a sexy word that triggers thoughts of money and freedom. It’s always been seen as a solution to the “Man, my job sucks” problem, but has really gained some traction over the past few years.

As individuals, we love the idea of starting our own business, but it annoys everyone else: parents and friends think we’re insane, banks hate us, and our employees think we’re rich.

I never discourage anyone from going into business for themselves because there is no better way to create wealth.

But you need to go into it with your eyes open. Here are a few things I learned after going into business for myself.

You will stay tired.

And it will make you want to quit.

There will be days when you want to drop your pack and walk out the door.

When you feel like this, it’s your body (and brain) giving you feedback so listen to it. Are you physically and mentally tired because of a long project that demanded your attention, or are you tired because you are bored and done with the whole thing?
